New Infographic: That’s What THAY Predict

Our latest infographic provides a “Hunch light” glimpse of how Teach Hunch About You (THAY) questions can help predict specific recommendations that you might like. Begin at “Start here,” answer each of the four sample THAY questions, and then follow one of the 16 result columns to see what Hunch predicts for you in 10 categories.

A few things to note:

* In practice, THAYs are just one of many inputs that go into Hunch’s Taste Graph. So while this infographic is a fun exercise, your predictions will be much more accurate and nuanced if you log into Hunch and get predictions there.

* We used Hunch’s API (specifically, the ‘Get-recommendations’ call) to get the data for this infographic. Anybody is welcome to use the API for non-commercial use (contact us for commercial use), so feel free to explore and hack with it.

* There are only so many completely unique outcomes that will be predicted with just four basic THAY questions. For example, you may notice that National Geographic is the predicted magazine for two of the 16 columns. This means that an additional input (say, an additional THAY question, a rating you make on Hunch, or ‘like’ data that you let Hunch access from a social media site) would be needed to draw a distinction between those cases and predict two different magazines.

As always, kudos to our partners at Column Five Media for the great design on this infographic.

When you’re ready to see the full predictive ability of the Taste Graph, log in to see what recommendations Hunch will make just for you.
